Why MITR
Every family runs on a thousand small pieces of context — school schedules, medical records, bills, birthdays, the things grandparents need reminding of. That context lives in chat threads, inboxes and people's heads. Mitr means friend: an assistant that holds the family's shared context and helps everyone act on it.
How it works
MITR applies the same ideas I use in enterprise AI at a human scale: connect scattered information into a private knowledge layer, let a language model reason over it, and put guardrails first. The family decides what it knows, who can see what, and nothing is shared beyond the home.
Built with care
Trust matters more here than anywhere. The design principles are simple: private by default, transparent about what it remembers, gentle in how it nudges, and useful to every generation — not just the most tech-savvy person in the house.
